Garrett sworn in as representative for 7th House District

LANSING — State Rep. LaTanya Garrett (D-Detroit) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 7th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Garrett issued the following statement:

“Whether working in the Capitol or back at home, the needs of the people in my community are always my top priority. The people of Michigan should always come first, and I am eager to begin a new year serving the residents of Detroit and Highland Park. I will continue to fight on their behalf to lower the cost of auto insurance and prescription drugs, increase access to quality health care, and make sure the roads we drive on are safe and fit for the birthplace of the automotive industry.”
