State Reps. Henry Yanez (D-Sterling Heights) and Jeff Farrington (R-Utica) hosted a bipartisan town hall focusing on veterans issues on Monday, May 13.

Guest speakers Mark Sutton from the American Legion Department of Michigan and Kermit Harris from the Macomb County Veterans Affairs department were on hand to discuss all of the resources available to veterans. Brigadier Gen. (Ret.) Carol Ann Fausone of the Michigan Air National Guard also presented at the event.

“Veterans and their families have made a tremendous personal sacrifice on behalf of our local communities and our country,” Yanez said. “We have an obligation to come together and put partisanship aside to make sure they receive the services and benefits they have earned.”

“The brave men and women who have served this country deserve only the best services we can provide for them,” said Farrington. “The purpose of this town hall was to help veterans in the area find out about all of the resources that are available to them and to answer any questions they may have.”
